Green Valley is a planned community in the city of Henderson, Nevada, United States. Henderson is south of Las Vegas and the second largest city in the state. Henderson has a population of over 250,000 and was named as one of the best places to live by Money Magazine (2006). Major locations near the city include Mead Lake, Boulder City and Hoover Dam. Green Valley in particular has continually grown over the past two decades. Green Valley Ranch and Green Valley South both can be found within the boundaries.
Green Valley residents are offered various higher educational opportunities within the city of Henderson. Some of these include the ITT Technical Institute and American Locksmith Institute of Nevada. Nearby colleges and universities include the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, College of Southern Nevada, Mohave Community College and Loma Linda University. All of these are within approximately 100 miles. The Clark County School district serves students of Green Valley. This is the sixth largest school district in the nation with 275 schools. A few of the schools located directly in Green Valley include Green Valley High School, Greenspun Junior High School, Thurman White Middle School and Harriett Treem Elementary School.
A great place for recreation is at Clubsport Green Valley located at 2100 Olympic Ave. This facility offers swimming, basketball, tennis as well as group fitness and even spa treatments. Take a swing at one of the many golf courses found throughout the city. A few great spots include the Desert Willow Golf Course, DragonRidge Golf &Country Club, Rio Secco Golf Club and the Legacy Golf Club. The city is also home to the Henderson Ravillion, the largest outdoor amphitheater in the State. Nearby attractions include the the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon Conservation area, Boonie Springs and Lake Mead.
House prices in Las Vegas have fallen into undervalued territory. Now is the time to buy as it has been suggested buying a home in Las Vegas is becoming more of a reasonable proposition. Many feel the biggest price declines are behind us.
